Event Signage & Print Collateral
When I worked at Dallas Baptist University, I had the opportunity to design a diverse range of promotional print materials for the College of Fine Arts. Some of my favorites included posters, flyers, and mailers aimed at highlighting visual or music events.
Each piece was meticulously crafted to reflect the unique theme and spirit of the event, flexing my ability to adapt and implement different styles across multiple print formats. My role encompassed the entire process, from initial concept development and layout design to preparing files for prepress, ensuring high-quality final products that effectively communicated the essence of each event.
To ensure each event's promotional materials resonated with its intended audience, I needed to carefully consider the needs of each client. For example, in print collateral for an art show featuring the university’s tenured art faculty I used an elegant script and incorporated the school’s colors along with the artwork.
For student senior recitals, I met with them and discussed their vision and developed a brief from there. One of the recital posters I designed was for Brian Hull, who had gone viral that year for his Disney character impressions. He wanted to lean into Disney and give his poster a Fanstasia-like feel, so I chose an elegant narrow type and created some textured magical swirls and glowing sparkles leading towards his recognizable name.
